This is our first year back offering shark. But, this time the return is in the form of a jackpot.
The more boats there are, the higher the reward. Lets make this a good year so we can return with it next year,
not just bigger, but better.

Our tournament reports the weight and information back to NOAA, not only regarding shark, But Tuna as well. So these guides will help you. As more info becomes available we will post it here.
1. Proceeds not given away as prizes will go to the C.C.M.F.R.
2. The C.C.M.F.R. will keep 50% of all proceeds from the rodeo.
3. Dates of the jackpot competition are August 9th & August 10th 2025.
4. Jackpot tickets must be purchased before 6:00 A.M. August 9th 2025.
5. ALL BOATS participating in the Shark Jackpot MUST have an Atlantic HMS (Highly Migratory
Species) Permit with Shark Endorsement.
6. The Targeted shark species are as follows: Tiger Shark, Great Hammerhead, Bull Shark, Black Tip
Shark. No other shark will be accepted. ALL ANGLERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING THEIR CATCH TO
NOAA FISHIERES.
7. ALL BOAT MEMBERS must have a Rodeo Ticket.
8. All Sharks will be checked by the official rodeo judge prior to weighing. Any Shark deemed not
acceptable by the judged will be rejected. Additionally the C.C.M.F.R judge may be aided by a
Marine Biologist or Marine Resources, the judge will take into account all factual evidence when
judging.
9. Any protests must be submitted in writing to the chairman before the CLOSE of the weigh station
on August 10th, 2025.
10. In the event of a tie, the first shark weighed in will be determined the winner.
11. All Entries may become property of the C.C.M.F.R.
12. SHARK MUST BE CAUGHT USING A ROD AND REEL. NON-OFFSET CIRCLE HOOKS ONLY. ABSOLUTELY NO
STAINLESS HOOKS!!
13. Official weigh station is at Daughin Island Marina (650 Lemoyne Dr, Dauphin Island, AL 36528)
Weigh-in times are the same as C.C.M.F.R.
14. ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS for the Conde Cavalier Mardi Gras Fishing Rodeo, ALL relevant State,
Federal, and NOAA Fisheries regulations including those regarding prohibited shark species and size
limits. A downloadable guide for shark identification is available from NOAA or our website,

15. ANY MATTER NOT SPECIFICALLY COVERED BY THESE RULES WILL BE DECIDED BY THE RODEO JUDGE AND
CHAIRMAN. THEIR DECISION IS FINAL. THE C.C.M.G.F.R. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE FISH SPECIES
FOR COMPETITION IN THE EVENT CONSERVATION LAWS PROHIBIT THE DESIGNATED FISH FROM BEING CAUGHT.
